Activities

Here is a collection of Desmos activities and other materials that I've developed, or are in development, for math education.

Fractions

Introducing Fractions: Introducing the language of fractions, along with some practical calculation skills
Introducing Fractions 2: Continued development of the language of fractions (needs edit)

Fractions on a Number Line: Understanding meaning and placement of fractions in the context of the number line. Includes negative fractions and equivalent fractions.
Comparing Fractions on a Number Line: Includes inequalities, equivalent fractions, and common denominators.
Adding and Subtracting Fractions on a Number Line: Visually understand adding and subtracting fractions. Includes positive and negative fractions, equivalent fractions, and common denominators.
Fractions of Fractions on a Number Line: Number line visuals to reinforce number sense with fraction multiplication. Note that multiplication is not addressed directly, but it focuses on the notion of fractions-of-fractions, including pictures of why fraction multiplication happens as it does.

Pie Fractions 1: Shading fractions of pies. Contains fractions of whole numbers, and relating fractions to decimals (and possibly percents, although it's not explicitly stated).

Fraction Sense: Divide and shade rectangular strips, using free divisions, and relate fractions to divisions.

Multiplying Visually (in development): rectangular array visual multiplication. Can be used for multiplication practice, distributive property, and visual fraction multiplication.

Number Patterns

Polygraph: Number Patterns: a polygraph based on the youcubed.org Week of iMath Day 2 activity.
